Welcome to Feng Shui Works

The literal translation of feng shui is wind water and is sometimes known as Geomancy, Luck Management or the Art of Placement. Feng Shui is not a recent invention but an ancient Chinese system with a proven track record of over 5,000 years. Since its beginnings in China, feng shui masters have made observations and collated and validated their findings, each refining and improving feng shui, resulting in an art with extremely complex rules.

Traditional or classical Chinese feng shui requires no belief system, is not a religion nor a superstition but is instead based on logic, total common sense and a complete understanding of natural life. Traditional Chinese feng shui works and is already working within your space whether you believe in it or not.

Feng Shui works because it is the way of the universe and everything contained within it. Our understanding of this brings us closer to nature and the closer we get to a natural form of life, the better balanced our lives become, which in turn improves our health, relationships and our wealth potential. This is the real meaning of harmony.

During a feng shui consultation, the quality of chi is examined. It is different for each building and the quality of the chi influences the quality of life for those living or working within the building.

Good chi or "Sheng chi" brings us abundance, stability, health, harmony and success. Bad chi or "Sha chi" brings quarrels, disharmony, disease and financial loss. A feng shui consultant is able to use simple cures in order to harmonise chi, turning "sha chi" into "sheng chi" and so maximising the positive influences and minimising the negative influences.

Putting Feng Shui into Perspective

Unlike some western new age interpretations of Feng Shui with unrealistic promises of health, wealth and prosperity, the Chinese have never thought that using Feng Shui would guarantee that they always have great relationships, own successful businesses or become millionaires. In fact, Chinese philosophers placed feng shui third on the list of factors that determine the quality of one's life.

Firstly and possibly the most important of these factors, is "Destiny" or "Heaven's Luck", defined through a person's Chinese Astrology chart. This outlines the person's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the general direction and tendencies they are likely to experience through life.

Secondly, is "Earth Luck", meaning the influences from your parents, family and the environment that we are born into, as this determines growth, development and the person we finally become.

Thirdly is "Man Luck" or Feng Shui, the study of our environment, its affect on us and ours on it. Feng Shui is how we can make beneficial changes to Heaven and Earth Luck and is the first level that a person can change or control.

So, putting it all into perspective, Feng Shui cannot make a millionaire from someone whose Destiny does not support it, but what it does do is make the bad times easier, the good times better and the great times, fantastic! Feng shui allows you to reach your full potential, giving you a more dynamic love life, improvement to your family relationships, work and business aspirations or simply a healthier, more energetic life in general.
